our projects in Thailand

The host organization was founded in 1990, following a meeting between a few students who wanted to improve social conditions for the less fortunate. This group of students decided to visit various schools and communities and to present theatrical performances addressing social injustice. Since then, the organization was established in Northern Thailand to help ethnic minorities living along the Myanmar and Laos borders. Through artistic activities, the organization tries to mobilize the local population in order to support the homeless and less fortunate in their society.

As a participant, you will work as a volunteer teacher with young children of Akha, in a self-directed learning pre-school centre. The centre is located near the host organization office. The centre’s goal is to provide village youth with a space where they can socialize, play and engage in educational activities in order to prepare them for school. Participant responsibilities could also include tasks related to teaching and social work with local ethnic minorities.

Language Requirements: Intermediate English and willingness to learn Thai.
