INFORMATION ABOUT BURKINA FASO

Descendants of a long line of emperors, the Burkina share a sense of cultural identity extremely strong, probably exacerbated by years of colonization. Although they live in one of the poorest countries of the world, they show a zest for life and an extraordinary sense of hospitality, and managed to transform this land almost devoid of all natural resources a cultural jewel.

Despite the political violence plaguing the country for decades, Burkina Faso remains a cultural destination in West Africa. In addition to its traditional festivals, it also hosts Fespaco, a biennial film worthy of the most prestigious festivals.
